Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Project Manager to join our Commercial Construction team. This is a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile commercial projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Project Manager, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities: As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for: 1. Assisting the Project Manager in all aspects of the project life cycle, from initial planning through to final delivery. 2. Coordinating and managing project tasks and deliverables, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. 3. Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project. 4. Assisting with the preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets, and other necessary documentation. 5. Monitoring project progress and making adjustments as needed to ensure successful completion. 6. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, and that all necessary permits and licenses are in place. 7. Identifying and managing project risks, and developing contingency plans to mitigate them. 8. Participating in project meetings and providing regular updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders. 9. Assisting with the procurement of materials and services, and managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. 10. Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure work is being carried out to the required standards.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: 1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a project management or assistant project management role. 2. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred. 3. Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects. 4. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. 6. A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations. 7. Proficiency in project management software and other relevant IT skills. 8. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they become problems. 9. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 10. A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
